The later ones just sound kind of weedy. This one though, the C12s, sounds like it will rip your face off and then eat it. Apparently though I am the only one that thinks this cause it is so hard to find sound clips on youtube. I am still going to try god damn it!
This one gave me many gasms.
There is like 10 videos of this exact car. I didn't feel like placing them all here, but if you want to see all of them. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . They are all really good.
I think it may have been the titanium exhaust that lost the sound. These were stainless steel I think.

For some reason the captions were on for the /Drive video and it said this:
[Engine Roaring]
[Engine Starting]
[Engine Humming]
[Tires Squealing]
[Engine Roaring]
That's my kind of video right there.

Another off-topic question from me, because I don't know how to internets
When you imbed a Youtube video, how do you make it start from a specific point in the middle like that?

First go to the time you want the youtube video to start from and pause. You then right click the youtube video. There will be then a list of options, choose "Copy video URL at current time" and tah-dah!!

The Zonda is my favorite car in the entire world. There are none more beautiful. If I had this car, I would sit in the garage with it and stare at it for many...many days of my life.

Also, I think probably the biggest reason the last video sounds different is because it is indoors revving in neutral without any load on the engine. Exhaust sound is made because of energy being pushed out of the combustion chambers and down the exhaust. Sitting at idle in neutral, there is very little energy needed to raise the engine speed, so the exhaust sounds much different than when it's accelerating under load. Also, the way something sounds depends a lot on the reverberation of that sound off the structures surrounding the source.

Well no, all these cars are pretty much stock, so they all sound very similar. I will try to find it but there is a C12F with a titanium exhaust and it sounded like the later cars. The redline is very similar so is the power output. Sounds a lot higher pitched, which is just the characteristic of Titanium exhausts.

I just jizzed in my pants.
I would say that it's entirely probable that the titanium exhaust sounds different. Titanium has much different material properties than stainless steel. Additionally, being lighter there is less mass to damp certain frequencies.

It's such a beautiful thing, how could you not stare? I even have a stare at my mustang from time to time.

Having actually heard a Zonda cinque in person when one was sliding around London a few years ago, its actually got this bass undertone to its screaming that doesn't come across on camera very well. Also because it screams you can hear it for miles at full throttle.

This particular Zonda has the C12s body with the F engine with titanium exhaust, that red Zonda you posted above is a C12s with titanium exhaust the engine modifications between the C12 and F cars and after go beyond just the exhaust to make them sound so different.

Usually the titanium exhausts look something like this on the Zondas
I don't about the car, but it says C12F which was a slightly modified version of the C12s which is why I thought they were the same car. If it has a completely revised engine then that would explain the change in exhaust note.

This thing also sounded amazing but I can't find any footage.
Then at Le Mans it only managed 10 laps so you can see it in some of the video just not running.

Guys and Gals.... you're forgetting THE MOST important Zonda video of them all! You will not be disappointed. And yes, I set all 8+ minutes of it as my alarm clock :)

The titanium exhausts have a lot to do with the change of the sound, but there were also two different engines in the Zonda's production run....the first Zondas the C12 and C12S used a 6.0Liter AMG V12...then came the C12S 7.3 which used the AMG built 7.3liter V12 from the CLK GTR and that's the engine that was used in the F, F Roadster, R, Tricolore, Cinque, HH, 760, etc....the switch to the titanium exhaust occurred with the F, but from what I understand Zonda owners like to modify their cars with the new Zonda parts that came out so it may be difficult to find videos of completely original specification Zondas...I think the EVO Magazine Zonda is a 6.0 liter model with the C12S 7.3 exhaust but I'm not completely sure

I thought with the same exhaust design and engine, the exhaust material wouldn't matter all that much as far as sound goes. Learn something every day!

I prefer the newer zondas too. The sort of hum then whine sounds great, especially when it's echoing.

IMO, the Zonda (ANY!), Carrara GT and Lambo Gallardo are the 3 best sounding cars ever - non-race car or modified, just straight from the factory. There are heavier, beefier and more throaty sounding cars out there but I don't believe anything sings and wails better than the 3 I listed above.

Not hating on the Pagani, but I'd totally listen to that Alfa 8C over it.

I don't know, the Murcielago pretty much makes the most orgasmic sound for a road car ever.
Don't even get me started on their race cars.

8C sounds like a bowl of turds!! To be honest though, the Maserati V8 sounds a lot better in the Gran Turismo race cars.

Titanium exhausts are a lot thinner and the metal carries different sounds compared to stainless steel. Usually it is a bit tinnier and I generally don't like that.

I guess I need my hearing checked, but honestly I don't think it sounds very good at all. None of these clips gets me remotely excited. My old Chrysler 200S w/ the Corsa exhaust sounds better (on video at least) than the Pagani. Maybe it's better in person than film?
